With cooler autumn weather right around the corner, Director of Agronomy Scott Anderson and his dedicated crew are gearing up for one of the most critical times of the year on our fairways: fall overseeding!

This annual transition allows us to establish vibrant winter ryegrass, ensuring our courses remain lush, healthy, and play-ready all winter long
WHAT TO EXPECT & COURSE SCHEDULE
 

 
To allow the new grass seed to germinate and establish properly, course closures and modified schedules will be in effect across both Cottonwood and Palo Verde

STAY OFF THE TURF
 
Overseeding represents a major investment of time, labor, and community resources. During the germination phase, newly seeded turf is exceptionally fragile
 
Keep Clear

Please stay completely off newly seeded areas, including walking, driving golf carts, or letting pets roam on the turf
 
Avoid Delays & Extra Costs

Stepping or driving on soft, germinating turf damages delicate roots. Bypassing closures leads to costly re-seeding, additional labor, and potential delays in reopening the courses for the season
 
WHY OVERSEEDING MATTERS

Annual overseeding is essential for protecting the underlying warm-season Bermuda grass while maintaining high-quality playing conditions through the cooler months.

At Cottonwood, players enjoy a championship layout paired with a full-size driving range, chipping area, putting green, and a fully equipped Pro Shop. Just across Alma School road, Palo Verde delivers high-energy, executive-style play across its 18-hole layout (featuring 2 par-fives, 4 par-fours, and 12 precision par-threes), complete with its own dedicated Pro Shop, chipping area, and practice green.
